The month of December has been difficult for The Hope Movement. Lack of donations have caused us to suspend activities and threatened to close centers, but we are trusting in God's provision as this is His vision, His work. In middle of the suffering people like the Villanueva family in Guatemala stepped up as a family and collected needed supplies to help us continue feeding the hungry. They came out this week to cook and minister to the children in our Haven of Hope Center in Escuintla, Guatemala.
Although we are feeding children who lack food at home, although we are educating children who lack education from parents, the most important seed we can plant in their hearts is the Gospel.

Jonathan Roiz, founder of The Hope Movement sharing his broken heart for the city of Baltimore and shaking the comfort zone of the church to become local missionaries and preach the Gospel.
Meet just one of the hundreds of children we serve each day. Nahomy is 3 years old and regularly attends our activities in the Haven of Hope in Escuintla, Guatemala. Her father in currently in prison unjustifiable in Peten, Guatemala (Northern region of Guatemala in the jungles) and we have been supporting by providing daily meals to Nahomy and her family, but the wonderful thing is in an act of gratitude her family donate vegetables when they can to the center to feed other children.
The month of December has started off being difficult financially because of lack of donations, but we are trusting God to provide in order to continue His work. We URGENTLY need funds to provide for needed food for our orphans in Kenya and to continue our feeding and education programs in Guatemala.
We have been blessed to have a volunteer Samuel Maldonado in our Haven of Hope Center in Escuintla, Guatemala. He will be assisting 2 or 3 times a week teaching the children to play piano, guitar and flute. Music is a powerful tool to teach discipline, coordination and increase self-esteem. We pray that through donations we can hire him to work part-time on a consistent basis to develop a music program which has been a goal for our founder, Jonathan Roiz, a musician and songwriter.
